Kyou wa  aoi  aki no  sora ga     mado kara  yoku  mieru yo.

Genkide  iru kana?     Natsukashii na,     futari de  ason da  koro.
Donnani  tooku  hanare temo     itsu made mo  tomodachi da yo ne.

Anata ni  yoku  hanashi te  i ta     ano  hito o  oboe te  ru desho u?
Kare mo  ima wa  doko ka  tooku de     hatarai te  iru rashii yo.

Genkide  iru kana?     Natsukashii na.     Ano  koro wa  sukidat ta.
Itsu ka  futari  toshi o  tot te     yukkurito  hanashi te  mi tai na.

     A Holiday Afternoon.

It's been a while, so I'll write a letter on this holiday afternoon.
I'll reply to the post card I got from a friend yesterday.
She wrote, "Isn't it hard living alone, so far away from home?"
I can see the blue autumn sky out of the window today.

How are you?  The old days when we played together are dear to me.
Aren't you my friend forever however far away I may be from you?

Do you remember that boy I used to tell you about often?
I hear that now he's working far from our hometown, too.

Is he well?  I hope to see him.  I loved him back then.
It'd be nice to sit down and talk with him again when we're both older.
How are you doing?  Hey, everyone!  Somewhere away from our hometown,
we do our best and live our lives, no matter how tough the going gets.
